Using a rest card replenishes some of your cards on hand but if you deplete your rest deck, it’s game over for you. As such, you’ll need to weigh up your options as you try to progress in Foretales.Īdditionally, on top of the Skill cards and Consumable cards, there’s a rest deck on the right-hand side of the screen. Players can also negotiate with hostiles based on the cards that they have available and not all conflicts can be resolved with violence. You can either avoid confrontation with them or take them on head on. These can be located on top of a location card and will need to be dealt with accordingly.
Players will also encounter hostile enemy units. The trick to progressing in Foretales is to make use of the cards that you’ve been dealt in order to progress further along in the story. These can be other characters or actual locations. Using these two types of cards, players will target a “Location card”. Playing these two sets of cards together is what the game is all about. Players will have two types of cards at their disposal. Players in Foretales will go on an adventure as told by playing cards and reading the text that’s displayed on screen. Foretales is a title from Alkemi and Dear Villagers that’s currently still in development.
